I've been using the design on the attached screenshot for several versions, I constructed one in my old 1.19 world and it worked fine but it is not spawning any Iron Golems in 1.20.1. This is a valid point to discuss also. In order for the villagers to "see" a door, at least one villager must be within 16 blocks of that door. So, if all of your villagers are piled on one side of your farm, the doors on the opposite side may not be registered. This is why most tutorials show splitting the villagers on two opposite sides.
