It should be illegal to sell products this poorly designed imo. My $300 IdeaPad from college never had issues like this, and every Lenovo I've gotten since has been a gaming model with most of the shell being metal and haven't had hinge issues since. HP laptops are notorious for their inferior hinges designed to crack, break off and worsen. HP Support is also notorious for not taking ownership of this issue and blaming consumers.

thats good. my main concern is more actually on the attatchement between the hinge and plating of the screen or base. The legion 5/5i currently has no known hinge issues. They have a different hinge design than the 7i and the only issue with the 5/5i currently is a common complaint of keyboard issues, which lenovo seems to be dealing with from anecdotal evidence including my own experience.Broken hinge on IdeaPad Flex 5.
