Fun to catch people off guard. I also played this dark build. Using the dark mask and dark clutch ring. Using the dark spells like flame, serpent, and ball. Sage Ring. The Witch's and Great Swamp Ring are needed to increase pyromancy damage. The Sage Ring is also essential to increase how fast you can cast your pyromancy spells. The last ring is up to you, but I prefer the Silver Serpent Ring for increased souls. As for armor, you can use whatever you'd like.Dark infusions and chaos infusions will be your most efficient backup, since they get stronger with your stats. The reason for this is it gives you the ability to use a good majority of the melee weapons in the game. Most of the weapons can be one-handed with this build; others can only be two-handed (e.g. all greataxe weapons besides the dragon king greataxe). Either way you have access to pretty much most of the melee weapons in Dark Souls on a single ...

Carthus Curved Sword works for any build, really. Its an evil little thing, having surpassed my hatred for even the Dark Sword. Infuse it however makes sense for your stats and enjoy wrecking things. Dark infusion is best on a pyro IMO, unless you main fire pyromancies exclusively then a chaos infusion paired with fire clutch ring is best. But you generally want dark infusion since it not only scales well with int/fth but players typically have less dark resistance as opposed to fire resistance. 6. It seems the scaling is all kinds of wack to reinforce pure builds, but pure pyromancy seems too demanding to be viable. I completed the game yesterday, optional bosses and all, as a pure pyromancer. No melee or shields used. It's definitely tough during the early stages, but it ends up being pretty powerful late game.

You should level vigor first, no matter what build your doing and to at least 40. Also, those stats would result in a build way too high level. Regardless of build, in the early game I recommend using a raw (or any of the non-scaling infusions like Fire or Deep) weapon and only putting points into VIG and END. Once you level up a bit and have enough points to spread around go to Rosaria and re-spec.As for build you should aim for level 140 instead of 120. 120 is meta level for quality builds, however 140 is for hybrids and covenant build ( you will sill fight versus 120 players). As for stat allocation: 27 VIGOR 10 DEX 24 ATT 40 STR 40 INT 40 FAITH. Rest is up to you, starting as pyro you will have 23 points left to spend. For PVE, anything goes, but Dark Orb is particularly powerful for its poise damage and range (with binoculars). For PVP duels, the best pyromancies is Warmth, Great Combustion, and Flame Weapon, and the best Hexes are Dark Weapon, Pursuers, and Scraps. A somewhat common strategy is to use Scrap of Life into a heal. 1. Reply. He asked for a pyro build. You should really stick to this as this is the most efficient build I have used: 25 vitality. 19 attunement. 40 endurance (makes casting time faster) 16 strength. 45 dexterity (if you like fast hitting weapons, go dexterity. Go strength if you like slow but painful weapon) 11 resistance. You will need 0 faith and intelligence.

Pyro caps at 60 INT/Faith in total. So you could infuse a DEX weapon with (for example) lightning with 50 or even 60 in FAITH for scaling. Winged spear or red iron twinblade are pretty cool. Or you infuse with fire. The fire weapon pyro gives 15 % damage up, i think.

Great Swamp Ring -- starting equipment, boosts pyromancies 10%. Witch’s Ring -- found in Catacombs of Carthus, boosts pyromancies 25%. Fire Clutch Ring -- found at Undead Settlement, boosts fire damage 15%, lowers physical absorption 10%. That is, using strictly pyromancies and as few weaponry as possible.I'm casually playing through right now and used a pyro-knight build. I prefer faster swinging weapons, so I went with a sunlight straight sword. Fireball is nice to just keep range and send it. Best spells are Great Combustion and Black Flame, and Fire Tempest. Get your dex up to 45, that will increase your casting speed and give the scythe tons of damage. I recommend the wood grain ring for mobility and the bellowing dragoncrest ring for extra pyro damage.Pyromancy takes most of the scaling from the flame, making pyromancy the best magic choice for melee builds. You will do bit less damage, but the difference is not that huge. I'd rather take the melee stats and attunement slots than the 100-200 damage more on my forbidden sun. You only need attunement for the attunement slots and +10 pyro flame.19 is best for the 5 slots and I find the starter Pyro armor to be perfect when upgraded to +9/10, just utilize the DWGR and a good shield and light DEX-weapon and you can ninja-flip without Havel's Ring. Don't expect to take a whole lot of hits, but if you want, you can slap on the wolf ring and gargoyle helm for some quick and lightweight Poise.
