Carey Albert Heidt passed away Monday, August 25, 2008. Born on June 10, 1976, at Memorial Hospital in Savannah to his parents, Philip and Linda Heidt of Springfield. He was raised in Springfield, Ga., where he graduated from Effingham County High in 1994. He married his high school sweetheart, Robin Rast Heidt, and married her on May 13, 1995.
Philip Heidt, 59, and his son Carey Heidt, 32, were shot to death in their beds. Linda Heidt, Philip's wife, was the third person shot that morning. Linda Heidt survived her injuries and managed that morning to call 911 for help.
