Same thing happened here. Everything was working fine until I replaced the battery. After that the air only blew from the defrost and floor vents. I disconnected the battery (no help), tried the hvac reset (no help), I finally had to replace the mode actuator. Seems like this is a cronic problem for GM, like everything else.
