Toyota rav4 not starting no crank.

In general it starts fine. Engine turns over about 2 or 3 times and it is started. But a couple of times when it has been warm and only switched off for a short time it has been very hard to start. Of course, start with the basics. spark. fuel. note the 94 Camry fuel pump only runs when cranking or running - it doesn't pump up and build pressure then stop (when 1st turning on key) - so you can't hear it run when just hitting the key.Why dont you try a few tests: Test 1. Yes the CPS if it totally fails or becomes disconnected it will not tell the fuel pump to send fuel. The RAV4.1 fuel pump is only engaged when the engine is turning over. You won't hear it run just by turning the the key to the on position.If the idle goes too low when the AC compressor is active, it is likely the VSV (vacuum switching valve) on the firewall is no longer working. You can verify the VSV by checking resistance between the pins - I believe it should be something like 40 ohms - if it is high/infinite resistance, it is bad.There is a switch down there. If it does not get the signal that the brake is pressed then it won't crank, start. If that is not the cause then need to check with scanner to see what is missing. They opened up a TAS case 200270499 They had it for a week and had a specialist come out. They could not replicate the issue.
