John Showalter of Asheville, 81,passed away at home with family by his side on December 30, 2023. He was born on April 3, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Edna Mae (Burkhart) Showalter and Rev. Roland LeRoy Showalter. He went to public schools briefly in New York state and then in Ohio, and was a proud graduate of Bellaire (OH) High School in 1960.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Larry Lankford. Surviving are his brothers, Kenneth Wayne Lankford of Burnsville, and Paul Ray Lankford, Jr. of Weaverville.
