The other pros I can think of with the Mossberg is that it has a bayonet lug and larger tube capacity. The bayonet lug is unncessary imo but to have it as an option might be worth it.

The built in swivel mounts are a nice feature. Some other models don't offer them and it costs you more to put on. I have shot my brother-in-laws 870 express before and it is comparible to the Nova in recoil using the 2 3/4 inch shells. I happen to like the looks of the Nova and I love the synthetic material.

Ive owned a Benelli Nova Tactical for over 10 years now. It is an excellent shotgun for an under $500 gun. It has many positive features that I like including a rotating locking lug bolt, a very positive extraction, the ability to take up to 3 1/2 " shells. The ghost ring sights on the model I have are excellent.
