NC. Feb 27, 2012. #1. I never had a D-104. I picked one up along with a bunch of other goodies today, wired it up for my galaxy and it didnt work. I checked and rechecked my wiring, it keys, but just makes bad noises. I think the preamp is bad. Question is, will the D-104 work without the preamp, without the battery.

The D104 handheld element is working great, but it doesn't fit like the original element does. So I used some foam to locate it and center it.
