This has to be a deliberate decision on the game developer's part. Give us back the option to increase tether distance. If it's too much for our computer, then so be it, we will have to change it back. Yeah we set it to an absurd number, it was working earlier today but it doesn't work anymore. Multiplayer launched from within the game itself is still limited by the tether distance. I think you can have even more than 2 player, but it is limited by the tether. Otherwise you need to run a dedicated server and then there's no limitations.
