P0028. Recently did an engine swap got a code P0028 while accelerating and only after accelerating, Checked connectors on the bank all seem to be okay. I haven't checked voltage just yet but If the sensor did fail wouldn't it cause the code to trip even during idle? Idles smooth and drives great oil is also brand new.

Hey guys, So my 05' Outback 3.0R has started acting up and now I have a P0028 code. From all the research I've been doing, it could quite possibly be the vvl oil pressure switch/solenoid on the driver side bank. Issue is that I'm having such a hard time finding the part number myself from all the Subaru parts websites I've visited.

The fault is associated with Subaru's Continuously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) system which changes the intake camshaft angle using oil pressure to improve engine torque fuel economy etc. Web searches indicate that other causes of the P0026 fault code include dirty oil and filters.
