Dec 1, 2013 · 88. Location. Edmonton. I put a finger throttle on my sled this year. Found it natural to use right away but I did get a bit more forearm strain for the first little while just from getting used to using different muscles. I have the guard on mine but I really don't see it being necessary even if you ride trees a lot.
